cannot forget - October 1984

After the assassination of Indira Gandhi on 31 October 1984 by two of her Sikh bodyguards anti-Sikh riots erupted in  New Delhi. Armed mobs entered Sikh neighbourhoods, killing Sikhs indiscriminately and destroying their shops and houses. They lynched Sikhs, burnt them alive, Sikh women were gang-raped. I love talking to people and learning about their ways of life. Such an inspiration. You never know in which direction the conversation goes. It is always a journey; a trip to a personal story that one shares with me and the listeners of radioCORE. I have been recording stories for radioCORE since 2018.
